About Strudel
Apart from the normal the normal cakes and bread,
there is also strudels which are the delicacies of the baking world. Strudels are much more expensive
then normal confectionery products as in needs alot of effort and time to successfully bake it.
Strudel is a Central Europe pastry and is believed to have originated
form Austria. The best known kinds are AppleStrudel which consists of apple and
TopfenStrudel which consists of Topfen (cream cheese) and there is also StarwberryStrudel and
DurianStrudel.
Strudel pastry is very elastic. It is made from flour with a high gluten content and with very
little fat and no sugar. The pastry is rolled out and stretched very thinly over the back
of the chef's hand. The strudel pastry should be extremely thin that it should
be slightly transparent. After which, the pastry is laid out on a tea towel, filled and then rolled up with
help of the towel and baked in the oven.
